Alderney Week 2007: TWTWTW – That was The Week That Was!
And what a week it was! With more events than ever, including a number of new events and venues and non-stop sunshine made this year the best Alderney Week ever… well, that’s what everybody seems to think anway!
The 2007 theme “Hollywood” offered plenty of scope for the Manpowered Flight Show, the Cavalcade floats and walking groups, the Gala Night and other events throughout the week. And the Hollywood sign was prominently displayed for everybody sailing into the island to realise where they’d just landed: HOLLYWOOD – but not in L.A.!
Some pranksters managed to swap two of the letters around overnight, so it read “Wollyhood”… Some mothers do have them, don’t they!...
Alderney-based ITV Channel Television cameraman and reporter Nigel Soane-Sands submitted some of his reports on the major events of the week and we are publishing a number of photographs taken by Alderney Week Team Member Ilona Soane-Sands, Jo Parmentier (States of Alderney Public Affairs Officer), James Adair (Editor of the Alderney Journal), freelance photographers Ian Laurence, Babs Beynon as well as numerous Alderney Week revellers who kindly submitted their photographs for publication on this website.
The full programme of each day is listed on the following pages which will also contain a selection photographs for you to view or download. We hope to have completed these pages within the next ten days.

We have now released a DVD containing over 1,800 photographs of this year’s Alderney Week and you might well be in one of them. Copies are on sale at the Alderney Gift Box, Victoria Street for £5.
