The Channel Islands' biggest annual carnival and community festival: 30 July - 6 August 2016

With thanks to ROBIN GOODLIFFE for our amazing 2016 logo!

 Alderney Week 2016

This year we looked to Alderney Week’s Facebook followers to provide an insight into popular theme ideas – we’ve taken many of the suggestions on board and come up with a corker!

The Alderney Week theme for 2016 is Cartoons and Comic Books; an explosion of colour, capes and cartoon craziness! Whether it’s Marvel and DC super heroes, Hagar the Horrible and Asterix or Scooby-Doo, Snoopy and the Flintstones, it’s sure to be a pop-art riot of mayhem! BOOM!!

ZONK! Let your memory drift back to old school greats such as He-Man, Andy Capp, Wacky Races, Minnie the Minx, Dennis the Menace and the Bash Street Kids or choose from more recent favourites, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Peppa Pig, the Simpsons, Futurama and even (dare we suggest!) South Park. How many decades of fun have we just covered? KA-POW!

ZAP!! The Alderney Week Team are busy choosing costumes; you may see some super heroes and the odd Bash Street Kid! The 2016 crew consists of Emma & Marcus Odoli, Nicci & Phil Knight, Ebony Jenkins, Danny Oates, Bryony Kissick, Chris Harris, Maria Ives and Kev Gentle. We’re back for round two and can’t wait to get started. Be prepared for another crazy week packed with wild events, wacky races, heroic performances, tons of music and as much comic book fun as we can manage! SPLAT!! POW!

If you would like to come on board, and join us in helping or participating, please get in touch, Alderney Week just wouldn’t happen without everybody getting stuck in….whether it’s building a float, shaking a bucket, running a stall, jumping into the harbour or just turning up, we want you all to enjoy Alderney Week. So, get comic-booking people, the possibilities are endless! BIFF!!

This year's Alderney Week promises to be bigger, brighter and crazier than ever....look out for brand new events, quirky activities and mad-cap surprises!
